HIGH SCHOOL
Students are enjoying their time in the library/digital learning center this year. It is the perfect place to relax, read a book, study for a test, or have a study group with friends

5th GRADE
Ms. Ballard’s 5th graders took their Science skills to a whole new level by sorting states of matter into solids, liquids, & gases.

THANK YOU
SSGT. Eric Newberry came by Heber Springs High School yesterday to speak with our Juniors and Seniors about Career Exploration and the choices they need to make as they are leaving high school.
He discussed several of the opportunities students would have in college, vo-tech, and the military. SSGT. Newberry also showed basic budgets of college and the cost of living on your own versus living with parents.

Panther Nation-
On Thursday, September 10th, the Administration at Heber Springs Schools was made aware of a positive COVID-19 case in the Heber Springs Elementary School. The Administration has contacted the Arkansas Department of Health for further guidance, and through contact tracing by the ADH and HSSD, the individuals who were at risk for primary exposure have been contacted. The Administration will continue to closely monitor this situation moving forward.
I want to thank the families of those impacted for their patience and understanding as we worked through this situation.
Dr. Andy Ashley

SCREENINGS
The Middle School nurse will be conducting hearing and vision screenings on 6th graders and 8th graders on September 14 and September 22. Remote or flex students will be scheduled to come by appointment at a later time, if they are not in classes during the screening days. If your child wears glasses, please make sure they have them on these days. This helps to prevent unnecessary referrals.

Vouchers for Friday night's game at Harding Academy can be purchased at the Central Office (across from the Methodist Church). Each person attending the game MUST have a voucher to gain entry. Vouchers are $5 per person. If you have a AAA pass, you still must come to the Central Office with your pass and pick up your voucher. Panther Nation-
The third week of school is upon us. It has been such a pleasure to see students back in the classrooms, in the hallways, and even at our first home football game. Our faculty, staff, and students have all done a wonderful job in each building to adhere to social distancing as much as possible. However, with all of the precautions we have put into place at our school, like with any other virus nothing is a guarantee.

The Administration has contacted the Arkansas Department of Health for further guidance, and through contact tracing by the ADH and HSSD, the individuals who were at risk for primary exposure have been contacted. Athletes at Heber Springs Schools are blessed by so many individuals and organizations in this community. One organization in particular, Baptist Health, not only helped our student athletes with free sport physicals, but also provided them with a new Panther shirt. Thank you for always looking out for our Panthers. #onedistrictoneteam #proudtobeapanther

We are moving up the time for the Senior Night Celebration. Parents and Seniors need to be at the Field House by 5:55. The program will begin at 6:15.

Thank you for being patient with us during the storm. We hope all of our students and families made it home safely.

Due to weather conditions, band rehearsal for this evening has been cancelled.

Students are in shelter at this time and we will not be releasing any students until there is an all clear by Administration
