Heber Springs High School winners at the Greers Ferry Lake Art Contest:

ACT Aspire Testing for 9th and 10th grade will be taking place at the High School Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Parents, please make sure your student arrives at school by 7:55 am, with their Chromebook fully charged. Please see that they get a good night's sleep and breakfast.

In addition, all Juniors and Seniors who do not have concurrent classes will report to the New Gym during testing Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Attendance will be taken, and absences will not be excused without medical documentation. Concurrent students will attend their class.

High School report cards for the third quarter were handed out to students during 3rd period this morning.

Heber Springs School District has been made aware of an alarming social media challenge that is aimed towards children and young adults, called the ‘Momo Challenge.’ We urge all parents to become aware of this threat and monitor their children’s use of social media, apps, and the internet. The “Momo Challenge” begins with a chat that encourages the receiver to do small tasks and provide photo documentation once completed. It eventually escalates to violent acts including inflicting self-harm, which can be detrimental to impressionable and vulnerable viewers. Common apps such as Facebook, WhatsApp, TikTok, Fortnite, and YOUTube Kids have all reported instances of the challenge.

Mr. Valentine will be held in the High School Performing Arts Center Saturday, Feb. 16th beginning at 6:00 pm. Cost is $5.00 and all proceeds go to After Prom.

Arkansas Boys State Applications are available in the guidance office. Apps are for current junior boys. It is sponsored by the local American Legion Post.

To: HSHS Senior Class Parents Prom is scheduled for Saturday, April 6 and is a parent sponsored event. You are invited to a meeting Monday, February 11 (tonight) at 6:30 PM to plan and sign up as a volunteer. Location is at the home of Laura and Olivia Candau, 94 Woodlawn Drive. The First Electric Trust Operation Round-Up 2019 Scholarship Applications are available online & in guidance. To qualify, parents or guardians must be members of the First Elec. Coop. Deadline is 5/1/19. Mail applications to the address on the cover letter prior to the deadline.
