Smith and Panthers kick off 2017 Season

What is your biggest accomplishment and why?

The biggest accomplishment that I’ve helped achieve is winning a conference championship and going to state.

Who are some contributors to your success?

Coach Bishop and my fellow teammates for teaching me everything I know, and my family for supporting me every step of the way.

What goals did you accomplish with your team this season?

Winning conference and going to state. This year, We’ll do the same and more.

Who is your greatest inspiration and why?

People who overcome injury and come back playing well. Breaking my leg my junior year, I understand what it means to come back and the difficulties with the recovery process.

What's the toughest thing you had to overcome in order to reach your goals?

Definitely breaking my leg. After hobbling around in my boot for 8 weeks, I worked on my range of motion and strengthening of my ankle everyday with bands until my ankle was where it used to be.

What would you tell a younger athlete that looked up to you?

Go to practice everyday, work hard in practice, make your teammates your best friends, and love it while it lasts. Don’t be afraid to get on to your teammates if they’re not making the team better.

What was your game day ritual?

I’m not superstitious at all, but usually having fun with my teammates on the bus, then getting focused when it’s time to get the job done.
